This class teaches students how to incorporate trapunto into their quilts to really make them POP! Hari Walner’s method of “Trapunto by Machine” is what I will teach. It is very simple, and quite fun. Students will leave the class excited and anxious to go home and try out their newly learned technique on their own quilts.
A basic understanding of machine quilting is helpful for this class.
In this two-day workshop, you will be working on a beautiful wallhanging. You will start out the first day by learning the “Trapunto by Machine” technique.
On the second day, you’ll learn lots of pretty background filler designs to make your Trapunto motifs really pop! And, Cindy will demonstrate her technique for curved bindings.
In this class, students get a quick lesson on free motion quilting of feathers and basic trapunto skills. After learning the basics and practicing on a sample square, students will mark their t-shirt, and then add the trapunto, and finally finish it up with the quilting stitches. Students go home with a finished project!
A basic understanding of machine quilting is helpful for this class but not absolutely necessary.
